Creator of the Shiftcode™ Methodology
From the Boardroom to Behavioural Science and Back Again.
For over 30 years, I worked in the high-pressure world of construction and facilities management – navigating complex contracts, negotiating disputes on multimillion-dollar projects, and leading teams in environments where the stakes were always high and the margins for error were thin.
During that time, I witnessed something that troubled me far more than any contractual dispute or project delay. I saw leaders with extraordinary strategic minds who inadvertently created cultures of fear. I saw leaders with deep care for their people who couldn’t hold them accountable. I saw brilliant professionals promoted into leadership roles who had every technical skill imaginable but who struggled to translate their good intentions into positive impact when the pressure was on.
I became obsessed with one question: Why do good leaders behave badly under pressure?
The Journey to Shiftcode™
That question led me out of corporate leadership and into the science of human behaviour. I became a certified emotional intelligence facilitator and dedicated myself to understanding the behavioural patterns that emerge when leaders are operating under stress and more importantly, how to shift them.
What I discovered is that the gap between a leader’s intention and their impact isn’t a character flaw. It’s a predictable, diagnosable, and shiftable pattern. And traditional leadership training – with its focus on knowledge and theory – consistently fails to address it because it doesn’t change what leaders actually do in the moments that matter.
Shiftcode™ is the result of that journey. It’s the practical, real-world behavioural intelligence framework I wish I’d had during my years in corporate leadership. It draws on emotional intelligence, behavioural science, and three decades of lived experience leading under pressure.
What I Do Today
Today, I work as a Behavioural Risk Strategist – helping leaders, teams, and organisations understand that leadership behaviour isn’t just a development issue; it’s a business risk issue. Through the Shiftcode™ methodology, I help my clients:
I deliver this work through behavioural audits, immersive 2-day programs, tailored workshops, executive mentorship, and keynote speaking for conferences and corporate events across Australia.
